CAR INSURANCE CLAIM VOID...

PLEASE READ STORY. BEWARE !!!

This is a real story, my nephew told me, & I would like to share with all of you. Be careful, if u have the habit of sending your car for car wash or similar matter (car jockey etc) while in shopping complex...

Two weeks ago my nephew sent his Toyota Harrier for car wash in the car park of Bangsar Shopping Complex while he had an appointment there. He handed the car keys to the car wash people and left the car park for his appointment.

After the appointment he went to collect his car, & the car wash people told him that his car had been collected. How CAN??? After a prolonged argument without any results, he had no choice, but to make a police report... and follow up by insurance claim...

Insurance company rejected his claim because the reason is the car was not stolen, the point of contention was why did he hand over the car keys to someone unknown, and why did he not wait there till the car washing was finished...???

So, be careful next time. If you really need to send your car for car wash, better stay there and wait for your car, if not, this may happen to you...

ALWAYS GET AN OFFICIAL RECIEPT LIKE YOU DO WHEN YOU SENT YOUR CAR FOR SERVICING AT HONDA, PROTON, TOYOTA... DON'T PLAY THE FOOL.

Additional Information:

Coconut Water -
The English name coconut, first mentioned in English print in 1555, comes from Spanish and Portugese word coco, which means "monkey face." Spanish and Portugese explorers found a resemblance to a monkey's face in the three round indented markings or "eyes" found at the base of the coconut. On the Nicobar Islands of the Indian Ocean, whole coconuts were used as currency for the purchace of goods until the early part of the twentieth century.

Coconuts are the fruit of the coconut palm, botanically known as cocos nucifera, with nucifera meaning "nut-bearing. " The fruit-bearing palms are native to Malaysia, Polynesia and southern Asia, and are now also prolific in South America, India , the Pacific Islands , Hawaii and Florida. The light, fibrous husk allowed it to easily drift on the oceans to other areas to propagate. In Sanskrit, the coconut palm is known as kalpa vriksha, meaning "tree which gives all that is necessary for living," since nearly all parts of the tree can be used in some m anner or another. The coconut itself has many food uses, including milk, meat, sugar and oil as well as functioning as its own dish and cup. The husk was also burned for fuel by natives, but today a seed fibre called coir is taken from the husk and used to make brushes, mats, fishnets, and rope. A very potent fermented toddy or drink is also made from the coconut palm's sap. Coconut oil, a saturated fat made from dried coconut meat, is used for commercial frying and in candies and margarines, as well as in non-edible products such as soaps and cosmetics.

Although it takes up to a year for coconuts to mature, the trees bloom up to thirteen times a year, so fruit is constantly forming yielding a continuous harvest year-round. An average harvest from one tree runs about 60 coconuts, with some trees yielding three times that amount. The coconut's name is a bit of a misnomer, since it is botanically classified as a drupe and not a nut. It is the largest seed known.

If you've ever opened a fresh coconut, you will have seen the thin, opaque almost clear coconut juice or water which has a slight almond flavor. Contrary to popular belief, this is not the coconut milk. However, the water is consumed as a drink fresh from the coconut by many, and it can also be used in recipes.

Here are some more information about Coconut Water -
"It's a natural isotonic beverage, with the same level of electrolytic balance as we have in our blood. It's the fluid of life, so to speak." In fact, during the Pacific War of 1941-45, both sides in the conflict regularly used coconut water - siphoned directly from the nut - to give emergency plasma transfusions to wounded soldiers.

Most coconut water is still consumed fresh in tropical coastal areas - once exposed to air, the liquid rapidly loses most of its organoleptic and nutritional characteristics, and begins to ferment.

  • Coconut Water is More Nutritious than whole milk - Less fat and NO cholesterol.
  • Coconut Water is More Healthy than Orange Juice - Much lower calories.
  • Coconut Water is Better than processed baby milk - It contains lauric acid, which is present in human mother's milk.
  • Coconut water is naturally sterile - Water permeates though the filtering husk.
  • Coconut water is a universal donor - Its identical to human blood plasma.
  • Coconut Water is a Natural Isotonic Beverage - The same level we have in our blood.
  • Coconut water has saved lives in 3rd world countries thru Coconut IV.

"Coconut water is the very stuff of Nature, biologically Pure, full of Natural Sugars, Salts, and Vitamins to ward off fatigue and is the next wave of energy drinks BUT natural", according to Mortin Satin, Chielf of the United Nation's Food & Agriculture Organization.
Coconut water contains more potassium (at about 294 mg) than most sports drinks (117 mg) and most energy drinks.

  1. Coconut water has less sodium (25mg) where sports drinks have around 41mg and energy drinks have about 200 mg.
  2. Coconut water has 5mg of Natural Sugars where sports and energy drinks range from 10-25mg of Altered Sugars.
  3. Coconut water is very high in Chloride at 118mg, compared to sports drinks at about 39mg.

Tips on Filling your Vehicles

Tips on Filling your Vehicles...

This is a Message received from a friend:
I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol... but here in Durban, we are also paying higher, up to 47.35 per litre. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every litre.

Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline, where I work in Durban, we deliver about 4 million litres in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.
One day is diesel; the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 litres.

TIPS 1
ONLY BUY OR FILL UP YOUR CAR OR BIKKIE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE GROUND TEMPERATURE IS STILL COLD.
Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so
buying in the afternoon or in the evening.... your litre is not exactly a litre.
In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role. A 1degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

Tips 2
WHEN YOU'RE FILLING UP, DO NOT SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER OF THE NOZZLE TO A FAST MODE.
If you look, you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode,
you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

Tips 3
ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS IS TO FILL UP WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL.
The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.
Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every litre is actually the exact amount.

Tips 4
ANOTHER REMINDER, IF THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK PUMPING INTO THE STORAGE TANKS, WHEN YOU STOP TO BUY, DO NOT FILL UP
Most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of
the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

Hope, this will help you get the maximum value for your money.

What is "Internet Marketing"?

Internet marketing, also referred to as online marketing, Internet advertising, eMarketing (or e-Marketing), is the marketing of products or services over the Internet.

When it applies to the subset of website based ad placements it is commonly referred to as Web advertising (Webvertising), and/or Web Marketing.

The Internet has brought many unique benefits to marketing including low costs in distributing information and media to a global audience. The interactive nature of Internet marketing, both in terms of instant response and in eliciting response, are unique qualities of the medium.

Internet marketing ties together creative and technical aspects of the internet, including design, development, advertising and sales.

Internet marketing methods and strategies encompass a wide range of services such as search engine marketing (SEM)which can be broken down into search engine optimisation (SEO) and pay per click (PPC), display advertising, text-based advertising, behavioral marketing, software-based ads, e-mail marketing, newsletter marketing, Customer Relationship Management Marketing affiliate marketing, web press releases, interactive advertising, online reputation management(ORM), online market research, and also Social Media Marketing Methods such as blog marketing, and viral marketing.

Internet marketing is the process of promoting an organization using online media, typically with the goals of increasing sales and boosting profits. Internet marketing does not simply mean building or promoting a website nor does it mean simply putting a banner ad up on another website. Effective Internet marketing requires a comprehensive strategy that synergizes a given company's business model and sales goes with their website function & appearance, focusing on their target market through proper choice of advertising type, media, and design.

The world is like a mirror

The world is like a mirror..

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written:

'Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away.

We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym'.

In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself.

The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room.

The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up.

Everyone thought: 'Who is this guy who was hindering my progress?

Well, at least he died!'.

One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part
of their soul.

There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could see himself.

There was also a sign next to the mirror that said:

'There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU.

You are the only person who can revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success.

You are the only person who can help yourself.

Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your parents change, when your partner changes, when your company changes. Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realise that you are the only one responsible for your life.

'The most important relationship you can have, is the one you have with yourself'

Examine yourself, watch yourself. Don't be afraid of difficulties, impossibilities and losses: be a winner, build yourself and your reality.

The world is like a mirror: it gives back to anyone the reflection of the thoughts in which one has strongly believed.

The world and your reality are like mirrors laying in a coffin, which show to any individual the death of his divine capability to imagine and create his happiness and his success.

It's the way YOU face Life that makes the difference

Have a nice day!

Star Fruit

Star fruit can be poisonous for kidney patients
By AMANDA LEE

KUALA LUMPUR: All it takes is one fruit or 100ml of its juice and the ordinarily harmless star fruit becomes poison in a matter of hours for kidney patients.

University Malaya Medical Centre consultant nephrologist Prof Dr Tan Si-Yen said this was what had happened to Tang Gon Seang in China.

The 66-year-old, who has been suffering from a kidney ailment, was in Shenzhen visiting his son when fell into a coma on March 29 after eating star fruits.

"Star fruits contain a neurotoxin which is not present in other fruits. It affects the brain and nerves. In healthy persons, the kidneys filter it out.

"In kidney patients, it cannot be removed and worsens their condition," he said.

More than 10 other patients in the hospital suffered the same condition after consuming star fruits. Two of them died.

After discovering the star fruit connection, Tang has been undergoing dialysis.

His brother-in-law Teoh Thian Lye, 55, confirmed that Tang had been on medication for kidney problems for three years.

The family sought the help of MCA Public Complaints and Services Department head Datuk Michael Chong to transfer Tang back to Malaysia as the family could not afford the hospital bill of RM1,000-RM2,000 a day in intensive care.

According to Dr Tan, there was little awareness of this relatively new discovery and no local cases yet.

"The public must be alert to reactions to star fruit. Look out for initial symptoms including hiccups, numbness and weakness, and neurological symptoms including confusion, agitation and epileptic fits," he said.

"The risk of death is high," he added.

How to Identify and Avoid High-Tech Credit Card Skimming

Beware of credit card skimming at kiosk machines.

Credit card skimming is a process in which you or someone else (namely a server or cashier) scan your credit card in to a device that then steals your number and subsequent information. This action is considered a type of identity theft in which the FTC estimates 9 million people have their identity stolen every year.

Although card skimming is nothing new, there are still technically savvy people, including yours truly, that are easily taken advantage of using this technology. Those who had their credit cards skimmed at an ATM, learned the hard way, that within a matter of hours your entire world could be turned upside down.

Where before a clerk or server might have been able to skim a few cards a day, technology has enabled thieves to target a larger audience by attaching legitimate looking scanner devices to trusted services like ATMs.

These fraudulent devices attach to the real card scanner, enabling your credit card data to be stolen, sometimes they include a microscopic camera for snatching your PIN number. The data is then stored in the device or transmitted wirelessly to a nearby laptop. In the end the machine will still provide you with your cash, but now the thief has all the information necessary to make counterfeit cards or go directly to the Internet to rack up charges, leaving you none the wiser until your next statement.

Here are a few tips about how to identify a credit card skimmer and the best ways to avoid becoming a victim.

1. Watch for unusual plastic additions to the card reader. This is especially important if it is a place that you frequent. The skimmers usually look legitimate, but most of the time something will feel unusual, either the plastic seems cheap or the card doesn’t run through smoothly. If you have any questions or concerns don’t use the machine and contact the company that owns it immediately.

2. Only use ATM machines attached to or inside of banks. All banks have some kind of security that watches for fraud. This is especially important if you are traveling.

3. When using an ATM cover your PIN code with your other hand. Even if the thief makes a copy of your card or uses the Internet they are forced to use credit, which takes several days to clear. If they have your PIN number they can make a counterfeit card and go to several other ATMs, withdrawing the maximum amount at each one.

4. Always keep an eye on your card. If you have to hand your card to someone else, like at a restaurant, keep a close eye on where it goes; or if you really need to, follow the server to the register. This might make the cashier uncomfortable, but it will give you peace of mind.

The best way to watch for credit card skimming is to check your bank and credit card statements frequently. It’s best to catch the problem as soon as possible.

Let's see how the skimmer captures you:

If you happen to become a victim of card skimming, immediately notify your card company, file a police report, contact the three major credit bureaus or the bank.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0w_ktMotlo
See how easy it is for a person to copy the information from your credit Card, make a counterfeit card and obtain credit in your name. Your counterfeited credit card can be used to make purchases within minutes after you lose control of the information.

MediaFire - Free File Hosting Made Simple

PC Magazine’s Top 100 Undiscovered Web Sites

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share some exciting news. PC Magazine has just named MediaFire as one of the 100 top new or under-the-radar sites of 2007.

“MediaFire is a free file-sharing and storage service that lets users upload unlimited files and images.

What’s even better is that the site doesn’t require registration, so that’s one less password/username combo to have knocking around in your head.

After the easy file-upload process, you can access your data from any computer and post links to the files for sharing with family (and coworkers if you’re using the site for work-related purposes).”

You can share these files by Email, Instant Messenger or on your website or MySpace profile with the sharing codes provided.

It is really useful to me. I hope it also can help you in your business.

Why Use an Online Storage Service?

If you’ve ever lost a disk or jump drive, or had your computer crash and important files vaporized, you know the benefit of having a backup of your files. Online storage services allow you to backup your files on the Internet where they are safe and easily accessed.

Protect your important files from natural disasters, like fires and floods, from computer threats, like viruses, from theft, being lost or broken and other hazards.

Share you files with friends family or the world. Online storage services make sharing easy and secure.

Access your files anytime and anywhere. Never get caught without an important file again. With an online storage service, you can access your files from any computer with an Internet connection. Additionally, some services allow you to view and listen to your media within the service.

Learn and make money from blogging

Hi,

I have many friends asked me about how to blog recently. And Blogging is very popular in Malaysia now. I also think that Malaysian should know and learn how to blog. (It is not that difficult actually! Don't be afraid of blogging !)

Now, let's watch the video below, it is from Google.

There are several products that you can use to blog. ie Google Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal, etc.

I would like to recommend you to use Blogger, because it is Google's product. As we know, Google is one of the top internet company in the world. So, it's products are reliable.

To create a blog is easy. Before you start to create your blog, a couple of things we must consider.

1. The name of your blog. I would like to suggest to use a short and meaningful name, if you can obtain it.

2. What do you intent to write in your blog? You may think in this way, why people want to read your blog, do you provide anything that your readers' needs. (Unless your intention is just want to have your own blog, which you do not care whether your readers like it or not. You just want to write anything you like.)

Once you have created your blog, the next stage is to learn how to drive traffics to your blog.

Below are a few ways to drive traffics to your blog:
1. When you send or forward any interesting email to your friends, you may add your blog link into it.
2. You may visit to any forums or discussion groups, and promote your blog there.

Actually there are countless of ways to promote your blog. To avoid to make you confuse, I have just listed two here. There are some other ways like join social networking websites, like FaceBook, Friendster, Flickr, etc, and so on.
We may talk more about it later.

After you have posted quit a lot of contents into your blog, and you have promoted it to others, assume that you may have enough traffics visit to your blog.

Now, it is the time to go to next stage, adding advertisement to your blog. This is one of the ways to make money from your blog.
There are many blog advertising community, they may provide you advertisements and place in your blog. Eg Google Adsense, Nuffnang Malaysia, etc. There are more actually. And as I said earlier, I may suggest you to use Google Adsense, because it is reliable.

Let's see how to do it

Now, you have learned the three simple processes.

Let me summarize it.
1. Create your blog.
2. Drive traffics to your blog.
3. Put advertisement to your blog.

Now, it is the time for you make money. GO! GO! GO!

*It is FREE ! Just invest your time.

Don't put dry ice in your car seat

Remember this esp when we buy lots of ice cream during Baskin Robbins
.....31st day offer!!!

They normally put dry ice in your ice cream pack if you buy a lot.

A friend bought four pack of ice cream and to prevent it from melting, the seller put the dry ice amongst the ice cream. My friend put it at the back seat (not the back of the car) and he started to drive with the windows closed and the aircon on (as what we all do). Soon after that, he had difficulty to breath and it was getting worser by minutes.

Luckily, he was in a traffic jam and when he almost fainted, beside him was an ambulance. He dragged himself to the ambulance and got the oxygen treatment. He was getting better on the way to the hospital.

The ambulance officer drove his car to the hospital and he had the same experience. However, before his condition worsen, he opened up the window and he can breathe easily. Only later, when my friend has returned to office and told his colleagues about his story, they pointed to him that the dry ice was the problem. WHY?

Dry ice was made of CO2 and when it 'melts', it becomes CO2 gas straight away without leaving any wet mark (that is why it is called dry ice).

CO2 is easier to be tied up in our blood and thus, when the dry ice sublimes into CO2 gas, it fills the car room with it along with the air con circulation and caused CO2 poisoning. So, dont put the dry ice inside your car if you are using aircon with fully closed windows.

You must leave the windows open for such situation.

Hope this will help to prevent any fatality just from a small negligence like this. Imagine if you have your children inside, they might be the first victim.

Don'T Pay "Kopi RM" Again

Hi Friends, I just received a message below, you may need to know it may be.

Date: Tue, 1 Jan 2008 00:45:46 -0800
From: drtankoonteik@yahoo.com

Fw: DON'T PAY KOPI RM AGAIN

Dear Friends,

If you are used to paying 'Kopi Money' when stopped for traffic offences, DON'T Do This Again. The traffic department has recently started a campaign to be rid of corruption. The officers on duty will be rewarded RM100.00 when they report each case to the department. This is how they do ( trick you into) it. They will note down the details of your IC/MyKad, and ask you how you want to settle(Paying Kopi Money?). They will then report the incident by passing up the 'Kopi Money' and get the RM100.00 in return for their good deed. You will end up having a summon issued to you.

DON'T PAY KOPI RM AGAIN, especially if you hope to go free with RM20 kopi money. They rather have a 'GOOD' name than to take your kopi money. Just beware of their trick because the cops are now clocking up 'cookies' points for their promotion and pay increment. They should have done this to stop corruption long time ago, anyway better late than never...

House Fires

This photo was taken at the scene of a house fire that occurred over the weekend.

The photo shows the plug in air freshener that got burnt, be carefull with other similar plug in devices it is equally dangerous.

House fires--please read!!!!!

Received from a friend who is in the insurance property business. It is well worth reading.

The original message was written by a lady whose brother and wife learned a hard lesson this past week. Their house burnt down.. nothing left but ashes. They have good insurance so the house will be replaced and most of the contents. That is the good news.

However, they were sick when they found out the cause of the fire. The insurance investigator sifted through the ashes for several hours. He had the cause of the fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her sister-in-law what she had plugged in the bathroom. She listed the normal things....curling iron, blow dryer.

He kept saying to her, 'No, this would be something that would disintegrate at high temperatures'. Then her sister-in-law remembered she had a Glade Plug-In, in the bathroom.

The investigator had one of those 'Aha' moments. He said that was the cause of the fire. He said he has seen more house fires started with the plug-in type room fresheners than anything else. He said the plastic they are made from is THIN. He also said that in every case there was nothing left to prove that it even existed.

When the investigator looked in the wall plug, the two prongs left from the
plug-in were still in there. Her sister-in-law had one of the plug-ins that had a small night light
built in it. She said she had noticed that the light would dim and then finally go out. She would walk in to the bathroom a few hours later, and the light would be back on again.

The investigator said that the unit was getting too hot, and would dim and go out rather than just blow the light bulb. Once it cooled down it would come back on. That is a warning sign.

The investigator said he personally wouldn't have any type of plug in fragrance device anywhere in his house. He has seen too many places that have been burned down due to them.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO ALL THE PEOPLE
IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK.
NOT ONLY
COULD IT SAVE SOMEONE'S
HOUSE,
BUT IT COULD
SAVE SOMEONE'S
LIFE
